You see when you want a blessing or answers for something the only thing you have to do is deny yourself with fasting and prayer. Below are scriptures and precepts to help you understand the power of fasting and prayer. When the disciple wanted answers they prayed and afflicted their souls with fasting. We sometimes say those brothers and sisters was another spiritual level, just to let you know you to can reach that level with much fasting and praying. We ask the Most High God for things, but what are we giving up for him? There are many ways you may afflict your soul, you can fast with no bread or drinking you can fast with just bread and water or with just water, but I tell you this its good if you fast without food or water. Read the precepts for understanding.

Fasting

Rather, fast on the fourth day and the Preparation (Friday). Do not pray like the hypocrites, but rather as the Lord commanded in His Gospel, like this:

What must you do while your fasting?

What must you NOT do while your fasting
Matthew 6:16 Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance: for they disfigure their faces, that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Precept to Matthew 6:16:

The Power of Fasting & Praying
1 Samuel 7:3-12 And Samuel spake unto all the house of Israel, saying, If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines.
4 Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
5 And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.
6 And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.
7 And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
8 And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
9 And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and
the LORD heard him.
10 And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.

Joshua 10:10 And the LORD discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.
(There was a time when the children of Israel where dealing with paganism and other gods, but when they decided to turn away from their wickedness. In 1 Samuel 7:6 it says "And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured [it] out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh." So when they (children of Israel) wanted to repent from their sins and evil doing they fasted. Also noticed it said they drew water and poured it out you see they could have drunk the water, but they didn't they poured it out while they begin their fast. So when you have sinned before the Most High and need a blessing we must repent and fast. )
2 Chronicles 20:1-18 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the monites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is
there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for
ever?
8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,
9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.
18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.
(We see that the LORD heard there prayers and told them they didn't need to fight for the battle is not yours. Now jump down to verse 22 and 23 to see what happen to the enemies of Israel, read below.)
2 Chronicles 20:22-23 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
(We see that the enemies was smitten.)

Precepts to 2 Chronicles 20:3:
Judges 20:26 Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came unto the house of God, and wept, and sat there before the LORD, and fasted that day until even, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before the LORD.

Ezra 8:21-23 Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to seek of him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
22 For I was ashamed to require of the king a band of soldiers and horsemen to help us against the enemy in the way: because we had spoken unto the king, saying, The hand of our God is upon all them for good that seek him; but his power and his wrath is against all them that forsake him.
23 So we fasted and besought our God for this: and he was intreated of us.
Esther 4:16 Go, gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me, and neither eat nor drink three days, night or day: I also and my maidens will fast likewise; and so will I go in unto the king, which is not according to the law: and if I perish, I perish.
Precepts to 2 Chronicles 20:4:
Joel 1:14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
(We see in 2 Chronicles 20:2-4 Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah so they can get victory over there enemies. Verse 4 says "And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD." You see they wanted help from the LORD so what did they do? They fasted. If you notice the The Most High GOD seemed to notice people when they fasted its something to Fasting. If you continue to read and in 2 Chronicles 20:13-18 we see that the LORD heard there prayers and they didn't need to fight, also we read that in 2 Chronicles 20:22-23 the enemies was smitten. We see that the Most High GOD did help them after they fasted. Fasting is very IMPORTANT people.)
Nehemiah 1:1-7 The words of Nehemiah the son of Hachaliah. And it came to pass in the month Chisleu, in the twentieth year, as I was in Shushan the palace,
2 That Hanani, one of my brethren, came, he and certain men of Judah; and I asked them concerning the Jews that had escaped, which were left of the captivity, and concerning Jerusalem.
3 And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.
4 And it came to pass, when I heard these words, that I sat down and wept, and mourned certain days, and fasted, and prayed before the God of heaven,
5 And said, I beseech thee, O LORD God of heaven, the great and terrible God, that keepeth covenant and mercy for them that love him and observe his commandments:
6 Let thine ear now be attentive, and thine eyes open, that thou mayest hear the prayer of thy servant, which I pray before thee now, day and
night, for the children of Israel thy servants, and confess the sins of the children of Israel, which we have sinned against thee: both I and my father's house have sinned.
7 We have dealt very corruptly against thee, and have not kept the commandments, nor the statutes, nor the judgments, which thou commandedst thy servant Moses.
Precepts to Nehemiah 1:3:
Nehemiah 2:17 Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach.
Isaiah 5:5 And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down:
Jeremiah 5:10 Go ye up upon her walls, and destroy; but make not a full end: take away her battlements; for they are not the LORD'S.
2 Kings 25:10 And all the army of the Chaldees, that were with the captain of the guard, brake down the walls of Jerusalem round about.
(We see that Nehemiah who was a prophet fasted and prayed because he wanted a blessing by the Most High GOD and victory over the situation. That's why its important for all of us to pray and fast before the our Father who art in Heaven, so we can get victory or a blessing in any situation that we may be going through, I say to fast and pray. Read Nehemiah chapter 2 and on and see how the Most High heard his prayers.)
Jonah 3:1-10 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of
them.
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat
in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and
he did it not.
Precepts to Jonah 3:5:
Matthew 12:41 The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
Luke 11:32 The men of Nineve shall rise up in the judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: for they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.
Precepts to Jonah 3:6:
Job 2:8 And he took him a potsherd to scrape himself withal; and he sat down among the ashes.
Jeremiah 6:26 O daughter of my people, gird thee with sackcloth, and wallow thyself in ashes: make thee mourning, as for an only son, most bitter lamentation: for the spoiler shall suddenly come upon us.
Lamentations 3:29 He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope.
Micah 1:10 Declare ye it not at Gath, weep ye not at all: in the house of Aphrah roll thyself in the dust.

Isaiah 1:16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;
Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saith the Lord GOD, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
Daniel 4:27 Wherefore, O king, let my counsel be acceptable unto thee, and break off thy sins by righteousness, and thine iniquities by shewing mercy to the poor; if it may be a lengthening of thy tranquillity.
(Jonah with to Ninveh and preached to those people and they repented, and when they repented and turned from there evil ways. You see the Most high was suppose to destroy Ninveh for there sins, and they thought maybe if we fast and give something up of ourselves then maybe the Most High would bless them and thats what he did, he blessed them. You see fasting works people. There was no eating nor drinking when they fasted.)
Exodus 34:27-31 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.
28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.
Precepts to Exodus 34:28:
Deuteronomy 9:9 When I was gone up into the mount to receive the tables of stone, [even] the tables of the covenant which the LORD made with you, then I abode in the mount forty days and forty nights, I neither did eat bread nor drink water:
Deuteronomy 9:18 And I fell down before the LORD, as at the first, forty days and forty nights: I did neither eat bread, nor drink water, because of all your sins which ye sinned, in doing wickedly in the sight of the LORD, to provoke him to anger.
Exodus 31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

Exodus 32:15 And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written.
Matthew 17:2 And was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his raiment was white as the light.
(You see Moses fasted 40 days and 40 nights he eat nothing nor did he drink anything. In verse 29 when Moses came down from the Mountain his face was shining and the people was afraid of him. These was after he did that fast. Its something about fasting.)
Daniel 9:2-5 In the first year of his reign I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem.
3 And I set my face unto the Lord God, to seek by prayer and supplications, with fasting, and sackcloth, and ashes:
4 And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession, and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to them that love him, and to them that keep his commandments;
5 We have sinned, and have committed iniquity, and have done wickedly, and have rebelled, even by departing from thy precepts and from thy
judgments:
6 Neither have we hearkened unto thy servants the prophets, which spake in thy name to our kings, our princes, and our fathers, and to all the
people of the land.
Precepts to Daniel 9:2:
2 Chronicles 36:21 To fulfil the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had enjoyed her sabbaths: for as long as she lay desolate she kept sabbath, to fulfil threescore and ten years.

(We see that Daniel fasted. Also notice that most of all the prophets fasted when they wanted a blessing help or revelation about something from the Most High and the Most High either blessed them helped them or gave them revelation about something. Its something to fasting. We see that Daniel did more than just pray he fasted. If you turn to the Daniel 10:1-12 you can see what happen when daniel prayed and fasted and humbled himself. We see that Daniel wanted understanding of a vision that he had and he wanted to know about the destruction of Jeruelasm. Once he fasted the Most High gave him revelatoin about that dream.)

37 And she was a widow of about fourscore and four years, which departed not from the temple, but served God with fastings and prayers night and day.

(Anna the prophetess was an old woman around the age 84 years old. We see that this woman fasted day and night, we must ask oursleve is this how we are living our life and our walk while serveing the Most High. We show from the previous stories of the prophets and the people that if you live this way with fasting and praying that the Most High GOD will reveal things to you or bless you. It said that she didnt depart from the temple. She was always telling people about the redemption they was about to get. She knew who the messiah was as a baby.)
Matthew 17:14-21 And when they were come to the multitude, there came to him a certain man, kneeling down to him, and saying,
15 Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is lunatick, and sore vexed: for ofttimes he falleth into the fire, and oft into the water.
16 And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him.
17 Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me.
18 And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.
19 Then came the disciples to Jesus apart, and said, Why could not we cast him out?
20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting.

(Even though the disciples had power they couldn't cure this child, so the disciples came to the Messiah on the said and said "Why could not we cast him out?" Remember he gave the disciple the power to heal and cast out unclean spirits and ect. Also know that not everyone is not given these powers, not to say nothing is impossible, but what allot of people must understand is that just because you accept Christ that doesnt mean that you will be able to do miricals. The Messiah tells them why the couldn't cast out that spirit by saying this "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting." Fasting is very powerful.)
4 Then the children of Israel did put away Baalim and Ashtaroth, and served the LORD only.
5 And Samuel said, Gather all Israel to Mizpeh, and I will pray for you unto the LORD.
6 And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured it out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh.
7 And when the Philistines heard that the children of Israel were gathered together to Mizpeh, the lords of the Philistines went up against Israel. And when the children of Israel heard it, they were afraid of the Philistines.
8 And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines.
9 And Samuel took a sucking lamb, and offered it for a burnt offering wholly unto the LORD: and Samuel cried unto the LORD for Israel; and
the LORD heard him.
10 And as Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel.
11 And the men of Israel went out of Mizpeh, and pursued the Philistines, and smote them, until they came under Bethcar.
12 Then Samuel took a stone, and set it between Mizpeh and Shen, and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.

(There was a time when the children of Israel where dealing with paganism and other gods, but when they decided to turn away from their wickedness. In 1 Samuel 7:6 it says "And they gathered together to Mizpeh, and drew water, and poured [it] out before the LORD, and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. And Samuel judged the children of Israel in Mizpeh." So when they (children of Israel) wanted to repent from their sins and evil doing they fasted. Also noticed it said they drew water and poured it out you see they could have drunk the water, but they didn't they poured it out while they begin their fast. So when you have sinned before the Most High and need a blessing we must repent and fast. )
2 Chronicles 20:1-18 It came to pass after this also, that the children of Moab, and the children of Ammon, and with them other beside the monites, came against Jehoshaphat to battle.
2 Then there came some that told Jehoshaphat, saying, There cometh a great multitude against thee from beyond the sea on this side Syria; and, behold, they be in Hazazontamar, which is Engedi.
3 And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the LORD, and proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah.
4 And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD.
5 And Jehoshaphat stood in the congregation of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the LORD, before the new court,
6 And said, O LORD God of our fathers, art not thou God in heaven? and rulest not thou over all the kingdoms of the heathen? and in thine hand is
there not power and might, so that none is able to withstand thee?
7 Art not thou our God, who didst drive out the inhabitants of this land before thy people Israel, and gavest it to the seed of Abraham thy friend for
ever?
8 And they dwelt therein, and have built thee a sanctuary therein for thy name, saying,
9 If, when evil cometh upon us, as the sword, judgment, or pestilence, or famine, we stand before this house, and in thy presence, (for thy name is in this house,) and cry unto thee in our affliction, then thou wilt hear and help.
10 And now, behold, the children of Ammon and Moab and mount Seir, whom thou wouldest not let Israel invade, when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them, and destroyed them not;
11 Behold, I say, how they reward us, to come to cast us out of thy possession, which thou hast given us to inherit.
12 O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.

16 To morrow go ye down against them: behold, they come up by the cliff of Ziz; and ye shall find them at the end of the brook, before the wilderness of Jeruel.
17 Ye shall not need to fight in this battle: set yourselves, stand ye still, and see the salvation of the LORD with you, O Judah and Jerusalem: fear not, nor be dismayed; to morrow go out against them: for the LORD will be with you.
18 And Jehoshaphat bowed his head with his face to the ground: and all Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem fell before the LORD, worshipping the LORD.
(We see that the LORD heard there prayers and told them they didn't need to fight for the battle is not yours. Now jump down to verse 22 and 23 to see what happen to the enemies of Israel, read below.)
2 Chronicles 20:22-23 And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir, which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.
23 For the children of Ammon and Moab stood up against the inhabitants of mount Seir, utterly to slay and destroy them: and when they had made an end of the inhabitants of Seir, every one helped to destroy another.
(We see that the enemies was smitten.)

Joel 1:14 Sanctify ye a fast, call a solemn assembly, gather the elders and all the inhabitants of the land into the house of the LORD your God, and cry unto the LORD,
(We see in 2 Chronicles 20:2-4 Jehoshaphat proclaimed a fast throughout all Judah so they can get victory over there enemies. Verse 4 says "And Judah gathered themselves together, to ask help of the LORD: even out of all the cities of Judah they came to seek the LORD." You see they wanted help from the LORD so what did they do? They fasted. If you notice the The Most High GOD seemed to notice people when they fasted its something to Fasting. If you continue to read and in 2 Chronicles 20:13-18 we see that the LORD heard there prayers and they didn't need to fight, also we read that in 2 Chronicles 20:22-23 the enemies was smitten. We see that the Most High GOD did help them after they fasted. Fasting is very IMPORTANT people.)

(We see that Nehemiah who was a prophet fasted and prayed because he wanted a blessing by the Most High GOD and victory over the situation. That's why its important for all of us to pray and fast before the our Father who art in Heaven, so we can get victory or a blessing in any situation that we may be going through, I say to fast and pray. Read Nehemiah chapter 2 and on and see how the Most High heard his prayers.)
Jonah 3:1-10 And the word of the LORD came unto Jonah the second time, saying,
2 Arise, go unto Nineveh, that great city, and preach unto it the preaching that I bid thee.
3 So Jonah arose, and went unto Nineveh, according to the word of the LORD. Now Nineveh was an exceeding great city of three days' journey.
4 And Jonah began to enter into the city a day's journey, and he cried, and said, Yet forty days, and Nineveh shall be overthrown.
5 So the people of Nineveh believed God, and proclaimed a fast, and put on sackcloth, from the greatest of them even to the least of
them.
6 For word came unto the king of Nineveh, and he arose from his throne, and he laid his robe from him, and covered him with sackcloth, and sat
in ashes.
7 And he caused it to be proclaimed and published through Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste any thing: let them not feed, nor drink water:
8 But let man and beast be covered with sackcloth, and cry mightily unto God: yea, let them turn every one from his evil way, and from the violence that is in their hands.
9 Who can tell if God will turn and repent, and turn away from his fierce anger, that we perish not?
10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and
he did it not.

(Jonah with to Ninveh and preached to those people and they repented, and when they repented and turned from there evil ways. You see the Most high was suppose to destroy Ninveh for there sins, and they thought maybe if we fast and give something up of ourselves then maybe the Most High would bless them and thats what he did, he blessed them. You see fasting works people. There was no eating nor drinking when they fasted.)
Exodus 34:27-31 And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.
28 And he was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he did neither eat bread, nor drink water. And he wrote upon the tables the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.
29 And it came to pass, when Moses came down from mount Sinai with the two tables of testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mount, that Moses wist not that the skin of his face shone while he talked with him.
30 And when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the skin of his face shone; and they were afraid to come nigh him.
31 And Moses called unto them; and Aaron and all the rulers of the congregation returned unto him: and Moses talked with them.

(Even though the disciples had power they couldn't cure this child, so the disciples came to the Messiah on the said and said "Why could not we cast him out?" Remember he gave the disciple the power to heal and cast out unclean spirits and ect. Also know that not everyone is not given these powers, not to say nothing is impossible, but what allot of people must understand is that just because you accept Christ that doesnt mean that you will be able to do miricals. The Messiah tells them why the couldn't cast out that spirit by saying this "Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting." Fasting is very powerful.)

Prayer and fasting is very powerful when wanting a blessing or answer from the Most High GOD of Israel. You see when you Pray and fast its like you are denying yourself and taking your focus off what you want and putting your attention and focus on what the Heavenly Father whats from you and to give you. Fasting and prayer can help in any situation if stay focus dedicated. I say this if we as the children of Israel fast more each day then and only then we will begin to see a Chang within our nation. As we just have read through this study lesson Fasting and prayer was apart of the children of Israel daily life. You see when they wanted to repent of their sins or if they wanted help they fasted. There are different ways you can fast as I stated in the begging of this page. So lets fast more so we can truly hear the voice of the Most High. We must deny ourselves with fasting.
