It is very important that we keep his commandments as stated in many scripture. We read that, if we keep his commandments, we will be able to have right to the tree of life and that we may enter through the gates into the city. For those who don't know, there are over 600 commandments.
Deuteronomy 8:6 Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.
Deuteronomy 13:4 Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Numbers 15:40 That ye may remember, and do all my commandments, and be holy unto your God.

Exodus 20:3 Thou shalt have no other Gods before me.
